Skin Rash from Spa Water Issues Solved!
Our customers have told us one of the biggest reasons they switched to Naturel Spa was to get relief from skin rashes. When people have the skin rash when using Naturel Spa, it’s usually for three reasons.
- Chemical residue. If you switched to Naturel Spa to avoid the chemicals causing your skin rash, you need to remove them from the plumbing of your spa. The solution is to purge the existing water with Citri-Clean, refill the spa and follow the EVERY TIME YOU FILL YOUR SPA WITH NEW WATERinstructions on the cover page of the Carefree instruction booklet.
- Algae. Algae can cause skin rash. All of the symptoms below are caused by algae. See the article on green water for instructions on how to get rid of the algae.
• Yellow to green tint
• Slight odor
- Going too long on a bottle of product. Stretching a bottle beyond the recommended schedule will allow algae to return. If the water is clear with a green tint, fixing it will require a super shock of chlorine or bleach as stated in the EVERY TIME YOU FILL YOUR SPA WITH NEW WATER instructions on the cover page of the Carefree instruction booklet. If the spa is hazy with a green tint, fixing it will require a Citri-Clean purge and draining your spa. You can prevent this from happening by following the recommended schedule.
Basic Information on the products is below:
The Naturel Spa product contains natural enzymes, water softeners in a coconut oil base. The Naturel Spa product will break down the cells of what you introduce into the water. The Naturel Spa cannot cover up old chemicals in the water or waxes/glues from a new spa.
Citri-Clean is a citric acid blend to clean the plumbing from old chemicals and waxes/glues before going into the Naturel Spa. The only time Citri-Clean is not used is in a vinyl soft-sided spa.
